Mahiya's Recipe

Chocolate Chip Cookies: the most traditional and delicious American recipe. Trust Mahiya!


Original American Cookies - Makes 10-12 giant cookies 

In a bowl mix:
  • 350 g of whole wheat flour 
  • 4 teaspoons of dry powder yeast
  • ½ teaspoon of salt

In a bigger bowl mix:

  • 200 g of raw cane sugar
  • 200 ml of sunflower oil
  • skin from 2 organic oranges
  • 100 ml of water

-   Add the dry ingredients to sugar, oil, and so forth, and mix well to create the dough for the cookies.
-   Add 200 g of dark chocolate chips (or pieces of chocolate) to the dough and mix well.
-   Roll some balls of the size of a small tangerine, and place them at a distance of at least 4 cm from each other on a baking tray covered with baking paper (they will expand!). Flatten them with your hand.
-   Put in the oven at 180 °C for about 15 minutes, until the cookies are a beautiful light golden brown (temperature and cooking time vary based on the oven). The cookies should be soft, but if you prefer them crunchy, you can cook them a little bit longer.
-  Let them cool down before eating them.

Carbohydrates and sugar are both acidic foods, and should be used sparely, only on special occasions!
